Athletics Report - Borough Athletics Finals

On the 28th of June 2023 our year 6 and 5 athletics team took part in the borough athletics finals at Rodger Bannisters playing fields. A mixed day of emotions with some hights and some large learning points for our young students ended with us dominating the track events. With Aaron and Erykah taking gold in the 75m sprint, our relay team taking the gold (4x100m) and Charlize picking up gold in the standing long jump. Well done to all the athletes who took part we are so proud of you all!!!

Athletics Report - Borough Athletics qualifiers

On Monday, June 12th, 2023, our group of young year 6 athletes participated in the Borough Athletics qualifiers. The event encompassed various athletic disciplines, including sprinting, long distance running, throwing, and jumping. Despite challenging weather conditions characterized by scorching heat, I am delighted to announce that our team performed exceptionally well, securing qualification for the finals scheduled at the end of this month. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the individuals involved, and we eagerly anticipate our return to compete in the forthcoming finals.

Football Report - Boys  League Season End

On Wednesday 29th of March 2023 it was the conclusion of the boys football league season with the Tier 1 finals day competing against the best schools in harrow. Taking a very bright and impressive record into this our boys showed no fear in getting stuck in with some great wins against opposition schools. Sadly due to a loss in the early stages it lead us to compete for the 3rd and 4th play off final where the boys fell short in the penalty shoot out.

With the boys finishing as the 4th best school in Harrow it is time to reflect on such  a positive season for the team. With some great score lines over the last couple of months in league and cup which the player never let themselves down. Its also not to forget they did pick up a trophy in the early part of the season with the Charles Alcock Cup.

I would like to say a big thank you to the parents for coming to support us over the last couple of months and backing the boys in all aspects of the season. I imagine that as these young players leave our school heading into secondary they will only get better and I cannot wait to see how they get on in their footballing careers.

Gymnastics Report - Harrow Regional Championships

After a long absence due to COVID Lockdowns our year 3 and 4 gymnastic teams where able to take part in the Harrow Regional Championships on Friday 24th March 2023. A young team full of energy took part with some amazing movements in the floor routine but also showing great balance in the Vault.

This outstanding performance Lead to our year 4 team finishing 3rd overall with Eva also being named the second best girl in Harrow for induvial score.

The day was always going to be tough for a team that has not been able to compete before but what then took place was a stunning achievement as our year 3 squad came 1st in all of Harrow!!

Then to add to his Victor being named best boy in his category was also a huge achievement, but then to add to that was something we haven't seen at St Georges in a long time as three girls took the top 3 spots in Harrow. Anna coming in 3rd, Scarlett 2nd and Mia being named the best girl in Harrow with her score.

This result is something that everyone at the school is so proud of! Well done all!! and a big thank you to Gymnastic Coach Ellie for taking these children and turning them into medalists.
